A simple workflow
Search Gather using the detail you remember, open the strongest reference, and choose Copy for AI. Paste the generated handoff into Claude with the task you are working on.
- Describe the product and audience
- Say which qualities in the reference matter
- Identify anything Claude should not reproduce
- Ask Claude to explain how the proposed design uses the direction
For Claude Code projects
Use the reference early, before component structure and styling have hardened. Ask for a small set of design principles extracted from the image, then keep those principles beside the implementation plan so later changes stay coherent.
References improve critique too
After implementation, give Claude the original direction again and ask for a comparison focused on hierarchy, density, rhythm, and tone. The reference becomes a review instrument instead of a one-time attachment.
Takeaway
Use Gather to shorten the distance between remembering a visual direction and putting that direction into Claude's working context.
